Melting slowly
The illusionary state
The low loss of consciousness
Almost a drunken state.
Moments before the inevitable
Wanting to stay awake
But the droop of eyes
Disobedient to the mind.
Gradual shut down of body
The tiredness taking over
Taking to a dreamland
Of unspoken fantasy.
Listening but not hearing
The world around fading
A calmness washing over
Cleansing all the worries away.
