Banquo's last laugh
Today there was an adaptation of Shakespeare's Macbeth performed by the Theatre wing of the department. The performance was focused on Banquo who appears only for a few scenes in the play.
The play follows the rise and fall of Macbeth, a Scottish general who receives a prophecy from the witches. The sound effects and other musical effects and other musical effects all complemented the performances. The thunder and lightning sounds were applied manually along with the whispering that created an eerie atmosphere on the stage.
The play portrays the over ambition and how it destroyed an individual leading to his demise. We also see the guilt within Macbeth through the monologue where he has hallucinations during the performance.
The murder scene of the king was performed on stage innovatively as it was not elaborated in the text. Lastly, the artist who painted the poster live on the stage was amazing as he finished painting within the time frame of the whole performance.
